Summer Schedule 2010

Delaware Valley Dance Academy offers the
finest dance training in an encouraging and
professional atmosphere. Our classes are
designed to take students from their first
introduction to dance to a full and varied
course of dance training. An emphasis will
be placed on proper body placement and
line. We will stress the importance of
musicality and the joy of artistic expression.
The school has an enthusiastic staff of
professionally experienced teachers
supplemented by visiting guest teachers. A
close working partnership between student
and teacher is an important aspect of our
program. Whether in pursuit of a
professional dance career or simply to derive
the joys and physical benefits of dance class,
our students will enjoy the highest quality
classes in a warm and nurturing
environment.

Snow White Ballet Camp
Ages 3 1/2 to 6 | July 12 16 | 9:30-12:30

Begin your day in the Enchanted Forest with Ballet
Class, followed by a nutritious snack fit for a Princess.
Fun & learning continues with exploration of our
Snow White theme through drama, dance, crafts & a
tea party with Snow White! We will even slip into our
tap shoes for some tappin good times.!

Musical Theater Camp
Ages 6 to 11 | July 12 16 | 1:00 4:00pm

This exciting new camp is geared toward theater and
dance lovers. Join DVDA as we embark on a funfilled
Musical Theater adventure. We will start the
morning stretching and strengthening our dance
technique and then move on to honing our acting and
performing skills. Of course we will have time for
singing, nutrition talks, crafts and snack breaks and
we will finish each day with rehearsals for the
Broadway show Mary Poppins. The week will
culminate on Friday with a studio performance of
scenes from the musical Mary Poppins, using props
and costumes. Bring your friends and family to watch
the production. This is an ideal camp for the aspiring
performer or any child that enjoys singing and
dancing.

Ballet Class Sessions

Summer classes are required for all those
Dancers level 4 and above wishing to participate in
DVDAs annual Nutcracker production.

June 14 25 (Two Week Session)
July 5- 30 (Four Week Session)

Mondays:
Ballet 4 5 5:00pm-6:30pm
Ballet 6 7 6:30pm-8:30pm

Tuesdays: July 6 27 (4 weeks)
Pre-Ballet 3 1/2 to 5 yrs 5:30pm-6:30pm
Ballet 1—2 6:30pm-7:30pm

Thursdays:
Ballet 5 7 6:30pm-8:30pm

Summer Dance Intensive
August 2 6 | 5-9 PM (week 1)
August 9 13 | 5-9 PM (week 2)

DVDA is proud to announce our seventh
Summer Dance Intensive for ballet students
level 5 and above. The focus of the intensive
is on ballet, the foundation of many dance
forms. Students will also be offered classes in
Pointe, Pilates, Variations, Stretching, Jazz,
Modern & other disciplines. A select few
dancers may have the opportunity to
participate in partnering class. DVDA staff
will be enhanced by guest teachers. The
summer intensive is a wonderful chance for
the students to grow technically and artistically
and at the same time expose themselves to the
varied disciplines of our art.

  • you can see me all the way on the end at the right for a split second at 2:20 you know, I miss dancing at DVDA. Not ballet, but Irish at DVDA. I miss the munchkin Emma. Good luck with the new acting thing!
