Video about the planting of BASF starch potatoe Amflora.

Amflora is the first new genetically optimized plant approved in the EU for commercial cultivation since 1998. The potato produces pure amylopectin starch used in certain technical applications. The industry will benefit from high-quality Amflora starch that optimizes industrial processes: it gives paper a higher gloss, and concrete and adhesives can be processed for a longer period of time. This reduces the consumption of energy, additives and raw materials such as water.

  • No to GMO. Today for industry, tomorrow for food. They dont care if its healthy or not, as long as it makes a profit. Just say NO. We have to ban this.

  • @piranogu Amflora is safe. The analysis and evaluation of the safety of plant biotechnology products is legally regulated in Europe. The European Food Safety Authority (EFSA) applies extremely stringent standards. Approval is only granted if extensive studies can prove that the plants satisfy all criteria in full. In June 2009, the EFSA reconfirmed its previous safety evaluations from 2005 and 2007: Amflora is just as safe for humans, animals and the environment as conventional potatoes.
