  • How are you controlling the focus?

  • tha camera has a function for manual focus

  • How did you change the focus from the close object to the background? Lokks really good. Did you use digital zoom? How do you open up the shutter? Is that the Aperture?

  • never digital zoom!!! just the most zoom you can get from optical and open the shutter as wide you can. Also try to record your background very far from the main subject

  • Would this overwork the camera?

  • Not at all... There are just the same parameters from the camera, just manipulate the shutter aperture and the zoom

  • Along the left side of the lens is a small focus wheel. it is really small so it makes focusing look jumpy but it is alright. (I have an HV20)

  • this camera manual focus by the ring on the lens itself or... ?

  • but the Hv30 and 20 are less compressed, and they have a higher bitrate, so therefore there is better quality.

  • the only problem with AVCHD is very hard to edit because of the compression. And the HV20 and HV30 have exactly the same CMOS chip and parameters, so the image is the same.

  • I've been considering how best to handle distant people. I think my best solution, assuming I was doing a short scripted movie or something, would be to have one of the actors carry around an mp3 recorder in a pocket. This is, assuming I just didn't spring for a shotgun mic or something. You can always edit sound together later in post, just have someone clap or something to help you out.

  • you can get it at tiger direct for $500.
