@campsteag the M3900 phones are digital, not IP, and only work with Nortel Meridian 1 and CS1000 systems. Nortel does make an IP phone that looks nearly identical to this, the i2004. Asterisk doesn't natively support it, but there is a package out there that allows you to use it at reduced functionality (ie only one DN and line).
@hcs4life21 it all depends on your system configuration, there are hundreds of different ways of configuring it.
