Its a mic technique. To balance the singing, he needs to step back lil bit when hitting the high notes coz its louder than the verses. Especially when it feels like u r about to shout , get ready to move your mic away ang put it back when singing the natural notes. Lol sorry i got carried away but i hope this helps . :)
