there needs to be probable cause for them to search you. A cop can't search you just because he wants to.

That sucks. Why do they ask you stupid questions if they already have a right to search? They say things like "do you believe there is a drug problem in America?" Any answer other than "no" will get you searched.

ha. . i know. there's no privacy interests in the concealment of illegal contraband. but umm. . .on your person i believe a person shouldn't be searched beyond a weapons frisk so long as they don't give probable cause. . but, easier to ask for forgiveness than to beg for permission, right?
