If this was the extent of scramjet technology you'd better believe that it would not be public information. My gut tells my that this was a stunt to fool the world into thinking the U.S. has not perfected this technology. There is a weather satellite photo showing a high altitude contrail starting around area 51 and going across the U.S. and all of the way to China. It is estimated that the vehicle must do at least 8,000 mph in order to leave a contrail of that length.
