The Montreal Neurological Institute and Hospital opened a Neurosurgical Simulation Center in September 2010. This is the most advanced neurosurgical simulation system in the world. The Center allows students interested in Neurosurgery to see if they have the technical skills and interest in neurosurgery. Allows residents and neurosurgeons to practice and improve their skills simulating both model and real operative brain tumor neurosurgical procedures with the overall goal of improving patient outcomes. This project is a co-operative project between the National Reseach Council of Canada and seven neurosurgical training centers in Canada.

Curiously, the outermost membrane of the brain, the dura, is here shown held by 19th century fishhook retractors, with tissue allowed to be pulled thru it (artifact). Please tell us, as a user, what the feedback is like. Here, in the richest of all medical subspecialities (neurosurgery), is the surgical-simulation goldmine..... despite how it evidently 'works' in 2012. This has gone-on long enough, yes? Can you show us some PATIENT-specific data handling, rather than a generic model?
