  • its a fun daily driver.... no one can argue that. i love my SI. its cheap to maintain and it is fun through the corners. comparing a $20K car to a $30K+ car is stupid... i would hope the car thats more expensive would out perform my little SI.

  • everybody just shut up and enjoy the vid and keep stupid negative comments to yourself....auto passion drives people like us so those are driven by stupidity need to just shut up and stop writing long arguments on here!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • did he brake and keep on sliding?

  • @Model192 Lastly performance wise, I don't feel the vette is a good daily driver. If I wanted a performance car, I'd get a Camaro LZ1 or Newer Vette Z06 or greater, Audi R8, Newer Nissan Skyline, Dodge Challenger SRT8 etc. But all from this decade and wouldn't be my DD. If I wanted a good performing DD that feels great and pulls hard yet still has good MPG. FWD or AWD. My SS has barely has TS and my buddies GTI has none and my friends EvoX has zero as well.

  • @Model192 Also to compare, if you look at American RWD cars today, they suck even more than the 87 Vette. I'm sorry but to me the newer Mustangs interior looks bad. MPG is isn't that much better. Usually improved highway miles over the Vette. The Camaro LZ1 has a pretty good interior IMO too, out shines the Vette. Granted, ones from the 80s the other is in this decade. But unless I'm feeling nostalgic I'd prefer modern interiors even if it's from a FWD or RWD.

  • @Model192 The interior of the Vette sucks, granted it may be amazing back then, but compared to todays cars, even the most basic looks better. Now in terms of quality, you may have an argument, I feel a GTI's interior looks better. MPG of the GTI out shines the vette and the GTI has basically the same suspension and braking performances as the vette. Not to mention 1/4 times are almost identical. One's FWD without torque steer and the other is rwd from the 80s. I disagree with you.

  • @vahdyx Not to mention the braking and suspension systems is still better than those cars today.

  • @vahdyx my corvette has plush soft leather, heated and electronic mirrors, removable top, manual trans with OD, electric seats, MPG/MPG trip/trip/oil temp/oil pressure/voltage/water temp and a myriad of other "cool" things that "performance" cars still don't have today. And, it was made right here in America. No rattles, no bullshit faux plastic. It just is what it is. We're talking about a car base that costs as much in 1985/86/87 as one of these entry level "sporty" FWDs do today.

  • beautifull

  • @Model192 I do love and miss older RWD's, but I love the newer cars features, but not really digging the newer RWDs excluding some (Pontiac G8). I disagree with your interior comment, but to each their own. I can't argue with your preferences or personal experiences. I know the flaws of my car choices, but I got to say the pros for me outweigh the cons.
