A serious Heavy Metal transmitter. Nice to talk with you on it tonight on 3881kc.

If there was any question that many AM'rs are wannabe broadcasters, this removes all doubt.

Is that an antenna loading coil on top? 50ohms?

@ZmajSnoshaj
The coils that are in the left hand rear view of the transmitter form what is called a "tank" circuit. this circuit consists of adjustable coils and capacitors which "tune" the circuit to the RF operating frequency.
I like tank circuits they look most like frankenstein's laboratory.

What was the amps power rating in Broadcast service? AM only now or can it go ssb? Class AB? Bandwidth and any odd spurs? Could it still pass quality for commercial use? I guess you don't need a heater in the shack.

1100 daytime and 500 nightime watts. with 100% modulation thats a hunk of power. With the modifications to the tank circuit for ham use it makes a chunk more. the rig will not do SSB. the harmonics are within FCC limits. i think it provides a commercial quality signal. the audio is limited and compressed by a commercial AM Orban 9300 which allows audio/signal bandwith control. listen to us on 3.885 usually evenings.

I love hear a good b'cast rig on the air. I wonder if you have it on 80 or only 160?
