MP assaults journalist

In a bizarre incident, kamukunji member of parliament simon mbugua assaulted ntv reporter robert nagila last night at the serena hotel here in nairobi. The mp who shouted obcenities punched and pulled the reporter as security guards attempted to restrain him. The ntv reporter sustained an injury on his right eye. The attack by mbugua comes after repeated threats to nagila and other ntv journalists whom the mp accuses of spoiling his name. Mbugua has issued threats to ntv journalists following the coverage of fraudulent car sale deals involving him along nairobis langata road.

the incident was not because of an election. the brawl happen at a funtion at a hotel in nairobi. the mp did not like a story that a reporter did on him and he assulted him. it got nothing to do with US aid or election.
