In this video, I show you how to prepare tea in the gong-fu cha method (very casually) using a gaiwan. I'll make another more formal video when my yixing purple clay teapot comes in (including the tea utensils, aroma cups, etc.).

  • hey nathan, been enjoying your videos, thanks for sharing. question: where did you get this tea table? what are the dimensions? seems about the size i'm after and i like the look a lot.

  • @ricenpeas75 I got my tea table at puerhshop. It's about 18 inches by 12 inches.

  • @NathanTeaV That's puerhshop~~~~dot~~~~~~c*o*m* (youtube is being stupid).

  • Nice demonstration. I might have to get one of those tables and give this a go

  • @SupermarketZombies Tea tables are definitely worth the investment. Dragon Tea House (an Ebay vendor) has a large selection of tea tables. I got mine from puerhshop, but I think they might be sold out of it.

  • I love how casual you are ^_^ hehe "wheres the button". Thanks for the friendly info.

  • You mentionned the three sips "rule" for drinking tea, if I remember correctly the theory behind this is the first sip is to cleanse the palate, the second is to taste and feel the tea, and the third is to appreciate the aftertaste. Personally, I feel the less esoteric justification of the cups being about the right size for three sips is more relevant; if you want to thoroughly evaluate a tea you'll pay attention to those things anyway without needing the three sips rule.
