depressed me when I first watched it at 5 years old.

Still moves me as much as the first time I saw it on the show. Thank you for posting it.

Oh God. This sent me sobbing out of the room when I was eight. So glad to see it again.

@wowinkorporated You are very lucky. Jim Henson was very inspirational. He seemed to know how to have fun at work and still be productive. i try to approach my work that way. I also like how he was whimsical and grounded at the same time.

this is off the charts

Quality entertainment for kids... I'd rather have my kids watch muppets vs Ed Ed and Eddie

Jeez. I remember my mom watching this video and crying, and I never understood why...after all these years I watch it and understand exactly what was so emotional about it. :.)
Which is why Jim Henson was one of the greatest creative people who ever lived and his work will last forever as long as there is an audience to see it.

I agree. I feel so lucky to have both met him once in a workshop setting and, at a separate occasion, to have him respond to an article I wrote about the muppets in a self-published newsletter I wrote as a kid. To think that he took the time and read it, and then took the time to write me - I cannot express enough what a really GREAT and KIND guy he was!
