  • I'm 13, and I ve had diabetes for almost 5 years. When we go, i'm more relaxed than my mom, but i still bring extras. She's more like you, with the 5 infusion sets. :)

  • that is so what moms do, LOL!

  • Great video! The one thing I miss about the deltec (and of course a lot of other pump companies) is the loaner pumps! Although now that I upgraded the Omnipod I now have a backup omnipod. You really are prepared with the food! How many carbs are in those fruit strips? Seem small and convenient. I have been in search of the smallest form of a large amount of glucose. I prefer sweettarts to glucose tabs, smaller and more carbs per amount.

  • The fruit strips have 11g of carb. I think Target has some thicker ones that are 20g or so as well. They look to be the same small size, just thicker :)

I grew up as an army brat and we traveled alot. Got stuck in airports often, sometimes as long as 24 hours. So now I just bring lots of food :)

  • Great vid! I see you are reading twilit!

  • Haven't started the book yet. Just saw the movie last week & decided to check out the books....

  • I thought your video was amazing! And your OCD when packing was extremly helpful, now i no what to take on a trip with my son who is 12 and recently diagnosed with type 1. I was overwhellemed and you made it easy. Btw where can i get the insulin bottle case in your video?

  • I travel a lot abroad for work, and since I take lantus by syringe one CRITICAL thing I always pack on my carry-on (or on my wrist!) is a multi-time-zone alarm clock! it's difficult when your routine gets upset to remember what time to take a daily dose, but thinking about what time it is at home, locally, and having the extra ding to remind you really helps!

  • I carry a shaving kit with all the stuff you mentioned, only no CGM. Do you carry a spare meter as well?

  • I bring my bag named 'buddy'. I named him so it would help me remember 'him' when I pack. He is SOOOOO well organinized, that I automaticly know where to get my glucometer, glucagan pen, insulan pen, neddles, ect.

  • Im not diabetic but my gran-aunt is so this video was verry helpful : )

  • Great vid Suzanne, going to new york in jan and it is my first trip abroad since starting on the pump so i think ill be very ocd with packing my meds . also can i ask how straight forward is it going through airport security with the pump. i know i will have all my letters from the hospital to say im diabetic but im a little worried with it???

    Thanks julie
