  • I love the fact that so many Frat Boys play this song at their beer parties, completely oblivious to the fact it refers to homosexual lust, hahaha!!

  • @Genkimark This is not about "homosexual lust." As @Genkimark wrote, "There are a LOT of different types of 'tainted love.'" The original 1981 video had band members Marc Almond and David Ball in togas on Mount Olympus. It seemed to reference several variations of "tainted love." There was a woman, a shirtless black man, a clean cut young man with a scratch on his face (S&M?) and, most predominantly, a little girl. (Wonder how THAT got past the censors). It is whatever you want it to be (IMHO).

  • Just wondering but I have tried to find this EXACT version and length on CD and can not seem to find it. Where did you find it? Its either live with the short version or the 9 minute long version and nothing in between. This is what they played on the radio in 82 not the long ass version. Any suggestion is helpful.

  • @djtutone OMG! Did I not post the CD name? I am SO sorry. Thought for sure I had. The CD I ripped this from is called "Hard Rock Cafe: New Wave"

  • @Genkimark There is a LOT of different types of 'tainted love.' We are only limited by our imaginations (and proclivities).

  • The story of my life..

  • Does this song remind anyone else of the movie Coneheads?

  • "No frills, no remix, just the song as originally released with a jpg of the album art" FUCK YES! The only way to go.

  • @Genkimark Actually (and I'm sure you know this by now), Gloria Jones recorded the original version of "Tainted Love", which was written and produced by Ed Cobb in 1965.

  • This is the version I remember hearing first; tho' any version rocks! Even the S/M esque original video....ah, good times...

  • Love this!!! Promo music for American Horror Story

  • Hetero Homo or BI still a great medley

  • @togepreee Thought for sure I'd posted it before. I ripped it from "Hard Rock Cafe: New Wave" (available on Amazon).
