We are at Euclid, PA. at the top of the grade on the Bessemer & Lake Erie railroad. We watch a north bound coal drag with B&LE 866-878-658-887. The four SD38's are working the hearts out their 645's. The units in this train are SD38-2, SD38AC, SD38-2 (EJ&E), SD38AC. A caboose brings up the rear as she picks up speed down the other side the grade Thanks for watching. Jackmp294.5...

  • @Jack

Does the B&LE still use those 38's?

As usual, a very nice vid sir.

  • @CarNutandTrainNut2 I think they still have a few that they use, but no like they use to. CN took car that!

  • @CarNutandTrainNut2 The lead and trailing units in this video (866 and 867) are the only two 38s left in CN road service. Until 2010, the second unit, 878 was still active on the B&LE, but it has since been retired. Other than that, we still have 868 (SD38AC) and 862 (SD38) being used as drone units at the docks in Conneaut Harbor as of April 2011.

  • @ble909 Thanks for the update. Good to know there are a few 38 running yet. Take care...

  • @ussoldierrail Hey Jack I have a question for ya bro I have many many MTH and Athearn and BLI and Intermountain ect engines with sound and a bunch of KATO's that i put sound in can i run them together? I dotn have DCC I have a Dc controler and a MRC TECH controler with sound functions. It seems ok to run them but will they pull on each other and will they cause the wheels to wear down? I can run them in a lash up of two but only forward.

  • GOD BLESS you 1jacdk! Just put my "wounded knee up on the computer desk and I am gonn aenjoy some more of ur vids. I have a bad knee from Army service and my son now has a wound to talk about from combat in afghanastan. He is poor and has bad credit just like us but our entire family has served this country. I have forward'd ur vids to him in country Afaghnastan to enjoy. When he comes home the republican yuppies will shit on him, but my union lawyer takes care of him wink wink!

  • @1jackdk Please stop putting vids up!LOL. I am gonna b elate for work and not get to bed on time! I am forgetting to weight lift and practice my knife fighting and throwing tech daily cause i keep making excuses to watch your vids. Thanks as always god bless. I say it again GOD favors you as you have been chosen to bring us rail fans plenty of action year round

  • @1jackdk 658 is the only one off the roster... the others are still in the system. 866 goes by all the time. I swear they have her turned up. Even at an idle she still sounds meaner than her sisters... Smokes more too! I'm still partial to the Tunnel Motors. Best looking engines they ever made!

  • Music to my ears. Thanks for sharing

  • this is good, but if b&le had sd70macs, it would sound better

  • Nice video! The BL&E has a collection of SD40-3Ts they use, so it's still good ol' EMD power!
