To everybody's surprise it turned out to be a steely. Yes it did flap a bit, but I had to clean all the hooks from it's mouth, an action quite redundant if I was to keep the fish. If one listens more carefully, I told my friend that I was going to let it go after I took a couple of still shots. In the meantime the fish was kept in the water horizontally and never by the gill caps, since that could have damaged it's internal organs.
I don't owe an explanation to the two gentlemen below, accusing me of barbarism. However I would like to shed some light on the situation, since others may watch this video. First of all, I had no other fish on my stringer, so keeping the fish would not have constituted a violation or crime, or for that matter warranted a classification like "asshole".
While the fish was in the water everybody thought it was a male salmon. I was thinking of breaking it off and continue fishing for trout. To
@goga56 i doubt very much it was released. i can literally count on two hands the number of fish i've seen released on the huron flows. that said, he should probably roll it in the dirt some more.... :/
love when the water is high there, as long as its going down that is. The fish seem to consentrate close to the bank in high numbers, none of this walking out bs..

Yes it was released after a couple of still shots. It would have been ridiculous to keep a fish like that.
