@Famfriass I think there are a number of reasons people delay marriage, but mostly I think it's the expense. The cost of the average church wedding is approaching $30,000 and it seems churches have become part of the problem. Unfortunately many churches have discovered that in addition to other fees, they can also gouge the couple for several expensive counseling sessions. IMO couples should seriously consider skipping church and get married in Vegas.

@cymbeli Ok...then get married then.

@gsschoenfeld Ok...then get married---why is married "delayed" if you claim (not you per say) to be so in love with your partner? Not having a house, that's not a reason not to marry, not having enough money, that's not a reason to not get married---love, is love, is love...if you love the person you are with so much, then marry them...don't wait. But people usually wait because, they don't believe deep down the person they are having sex with is "the one" for them.

I wish that christians would keep their noses out of other peoples sex lives and understand that there is nothing wrong with sex between two consenting adults who love each other regardless of their marital status. They claim that God is so loving, kind and caring, yet they also claim he will send you to hell for having sex with your lover if you do not marry them first. That doesn't sound like a loving God it sounds like an evil mean tyrant!

It's sad that Christianity has not adapted to the cultural delay of marriage. People in the bible got married when they were in their early teens, but people today often delay marriage until their late 20's. I think it's good to protect the youth, and expect them to still be virgins when they are 13 years old. However, Christians loose their credibility when they exaggerate the issue and expect people to be 30 year-old virgins on the same basis.

'the two will become one flesh'
every time i have seen fornication in use it has always been in regard to prostitution. i see no problem having sex with a woman you love. then if you want to marry her than do it! marriage is not just a piece of paper and a ring. satan has done a good job in making sex seem like its so evil when the fact is its from god. christians who know grace and love jesus have the best sex. there is nothing wrong about lusting towards the woman you love and who loves you. yes i am against casual sex

@gsschoenfeld WHAT?? $30,000 to get MARRIED??? My parents got married at City Hall! LOL...and I know people who have gotten married at church and the wedding didn't cost anywhere near that amount...maybe $2000 or $3000, but that's about it. Wow..unless you have the funds to do so, go for it, but that's a bit too much even for someone with middle class income.
