  • Using a pick on a fretless? Are ye daft man?Jaco should slap you upside the head!!

  • @gebass6 i play also with fingers in the video, plus bass is an instrument it's cool to use it in every way we like pick or not pick (just my opinion)

  • @brianmay65 I'd argue Geddy Lee and others did more. Macca only used it for one of the "new" songs on the "Beatles Anthology" release (and it honestly sounds out-of-place, in a song where most of the instrumentation was from the late '60s) while Geddy had two that he used for several albums & tours from the mid '80s to early '90s. Most of the Bassists I know would associate Wal Basses with either Geddy or Justin Chancellor of Tool as he's used them almost exclusively since 1996.

  • @Hiperi0n Very well-spoken reply! I'm an 85% fingerstyle guy, but the other 15% is solid, hardcore-yet-lovingly-playing pickstyle. There's more than enough "Pickstyle Virtuosos" (someone tell Tony Levin that it's "not allowed"... but then we'd lose his wonderful "Sledgehammer" line) that have proven Bass is just as "true" played as such, but apparently some need reminding.

...and fantastic bass & tone. One day I'd love to get a Wal: Colin Edwin of Porcupine makes his fretless *sing*!

  • @mflagg19 Buy one at Wal basses. It's that easy!

  • i think paul mccartney did a lot for these bass guitars back in the late 80s early 90s by playing a 5 string wal bass ....i have to say id love one myself ...i have a musicman sterling fretless and a hofner 64 reissue....but i saw paul playing one and i have always love the look of them beautiful bass

  • ça envoi du bois.

    C'est beau mais cher.

  • @changobilly22......that was schism and 46 & 2 dude

  • Was that with both tone pots wide open, equal pickup balance?

  • Schism and The Pot
