I've been enrolled in illustration at Sheridan College for the the last 4 years and this is my final thesis project. I have always thought of Carl Sagan's writings as "scientific poetry" since they lack the cold touch that science is often cursed for having. I think Sagan's words resonate more than ever, and will continue with each generation until the human species "wakes up". The first time I heard this excerpt from his book "Pale Blue Dot" it literally changed my life, and I hope it does for you too. Enjoy

is there a way to add a translation to this? I would be willing to translate the text to croatian, so people from balkans who can not get it in english would be able to understand the story accompanying your great animation :-)

I loved this. Sagan's words, in his own voice, are so moving. In contrast to a few of your commenters, I think your choice of Zimmer's music perfectly fit where he was going. When you read Sagan, you notice that not only is he "preaching" humility, but also hope and whimsy. Read Pale Blue Dot. Read Cosmos; full of wonder, humor, hope for our species. I think you characterized it perfectly in your style of animation and hopeful musical score. Wake up world...indeed! Thanks for this!

I love the fact it's written DERP DERP DERP BLAH BLAH BLAH in the holy book at 1:03... it translates pretty well any holy book's content!
