Wonderfu! Inspiring mashup. Bridging the universe between music, literature, and visual representations of science fiction. Heinlein would have loved it!

"psychedelic rock influenced by the Bowie's Space oddity"?
Or vice versa. 2000 Light Years from Home was 1967, Kubrick's 2001: A Space Odyssey was 1968, Bowie's Space oddity was 1969.

Ohh boy...back in the day...the Nevada desert, Pyramid Lake 30 miles from Reno, a prehistoric lake where they filmed the opening sequence to Planet of the apes, and for good reason, very spacey place. LSD...middle of the night...endless stars...and this song, and we were on our way baby! One thing I do know, when you're 2000 light years from home on a full hit of purple microdot, getting back home is present on your mind! Can somebody call 911, and come find us, LOL...scary stuff, great song.
this one and Paint it Black are my favourite songs from the Stones. Great Video .. ... domo arrigato gozaimashita
