CLASSIC SPEEDWAY JAP SIDECAR AT GILLMAN

Tony West's ex-Len Burman JAP sidecar at Gillman Speedway. It was only his fifth ride on this newly-resurrected outfit from the 70s, but after a poor start (2nd) he shows he is getting to grips with the extra urge of the big 1000cc V twin and powers around the outside of the slower Yamaha and runs away. A quick check of the data logger afterwards confirmed the need for gearing it up a bit....it was just hitting 7800rpm as it sang around the track. The engine is a brand new replica engine built by me, Greg Summerton.
