Great people, great weather, and great stages! This was the first time I traveled and shot in the state of Georgia and I gotta say that we were blessed with some awesome weather. The folks were great and the squad I was on had some really nice people (and great shooters to boot!). There were 12 stages total with about half of them standard-stay-still type and half of them field courses including the wonderful 30+ steel stage.

The match was organized and quickly scored, results came out before I even reached Connecticut. I also got my awesome Rudy Competition Squad shirt. Thanks a bunch Techwear, you really brightened up my day! Also got to meet some sellers and gunsmiths from the industry, they were down to earth folks, lovin' it.

Nice thing about assisting in ROing a single stage for 8 hours straight is that you get to see so many talented people do a field course in a hundred different ways. Got to see the top shooters shoot for the first time up close and I was astounded by their smoothness and awesome aiming. Also had a heart attack several times from the almost 180 situations.

As for my performance, well when you see the video...ummm..yeah. I think I was 41% in Limited. Which is ungodly horrible. I think I zeroed 2 stages too. Good times!

Since I'm sure people are going to comment on why the heck the Glock kept doing weird things. Thanks to AJ from FL (I won't disseminate his first name...because he avoids it like the plague) he literally took apart my Glock and tinkered with the trigger after our 5th stage...couldn't have finished without him. By the end of the day, those last few stages are due to too long ammo. Nevertheless, that doesn't matter because nothing hurt me more than my inability to hit the front side of a barn when it came to steel. Just something I gotta really look hard at improving on, nuff said.

Either way, this was one of those matches that I was having a ball, all thanks to the great Sat ROs and my squadmates. Good luck to all you guys in your future endeavors...don't know if I'll be shooting a SouthEast match anytime soon but you never know! Since I had a lot of queries about my hat cam, I think I'll start working on a tutorial...picture and picture rocks!

  • Whats with all the failures to feed and go into battery? Reloaded ammo or gun issues? Im looking at a Glock 35 for competition.

  • @thallium200 - Definitely not the gun. I loaded the ammo with a higher OAL (with crappy crimping to boot) than it could handle. Go for the Glock 35. Not only can you shoot it for Limited, but you can also use it for Limited-10 and Production. It's a fantastic all around gun! :)

  • @gamingoddess Thanx for the quick response. I figured it was an ammo issue because I have heard nothing but good things about the Glock 35 series. You rock. Keep up the good shooting.

  • @thallium200 - No problem. Glock 34 is also a great 9mm competition pistol too (that's what I'm shooting A LOT nowadays for production/IDPA). By the way, I'm blaming you for bringing me back to this video. I haven't seen it in 2 years and I am totally cringing right now. God how the hell did I not cry after shooting that match? LOL

  • I really like this gun. Would you recommend the Glock 35 as a service pistol or should I just get the Glock 22? I like how it has the higher end trigger and is more tactical looking, but as a side carry service pistol, I'm not sure which outta the two I should get.

  • @House6409 - For a carry side arm I would say get the G22. G35 was specifically designed for competition shooting. You could also take a look at the G19 or G17 if you want to get 9mm caliber. Remember that with 40 S&W there's quite a bit of recoil, especially with self defense rounds. Nice thing is that it will stop that opponent no matter how drunk and high they are :) If you want a competition gun though, G35 is the way to go!
