This is a really good performance of this song. And I'm really digging this guy 1:11 too.
A favorite Janis song, and it's not easy to sing along to. She was special.

geez, when i met her she just told me to "shut up and keep pouring!" i may be too cynical, but folks have been claiming to have met Janis for over forty years, i just don't believe it. i grew up in the 60s, everybody in high school loved janis joplin, but no one claimed to meet her until after she died.

I sometimes wonder if Janis really needed a mic--what power! What soul! Every note...as if her life depended on it. Unbelievable!

@eckankar - Awesome!!! How amazingly lucky for you, and rock on! Janis was right, you ARE cool! In the Summer of 1968, we visited Los Angeles. Janis and Big Brother were in concert, and my cousins went and asked me to go. The folks wouldn't let me, but I was only 12 (almost 13) at this time. Yeah, I missed seeing her live. Fantastically amazing that you actually met her and talked to her. She was (still is) rock's greatest female singer and maybe it's best singer, period. Peace / FoJ

Best version EVER! Like a possessed shaman she-devil; Janis amped and AWESOME!!!!

Ya know drugs were everywhere back then. Some like Eric, John, Jimmy and the only one to sucker punch the devil good ole keef came through. I only wonder had it not been for that lethal batch of pure heroin that was not supposed to have hit the street if Pearl would have made it and been a rockin granny like Grace is now?

very goooooooooooooooodddddddddd !!!!!!! aaaaaaahhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh
h!!!!!!!!!!!!

I saw her in February 1970 in concert and got to meet her and get her autograph which I still have to this day. What an energy she had, and she was so kind to me. I'll never forget as goofy as I looked, a kid from a farming community trying to look like a hippie and failing badly at it. she said, "you're cool, kid" I never forget that when others sling crap at me all these years, Janis said I was cool, so there!
