  • Cleborne was an honorable, heroic man; he was one of the bravest generals in history. He knew what was coming if the Confederacy fell. And he was right. Our history is trampled on by fools who know nothing of the sacrifices of the brave lads who gave their lives for freedom from an oppressive federal govt.

  • @SteamboatCamp AND LEE MANAGED TO LAST 4 YRS AGAINST ARMIES TWICE HIS SIZE LOL I KNOW YOU JUST HATE THE SOUTH BUT THE CONFEDERACY HAD BETTER GENERALS THATS WHY LINCOLN WENT THROUGH MULTIPLE GENERALS HE COULDNT FIND ANYONE TO BEAT LEE AND STONEWALL JACKSON LOL

  • @222macgregor German? Most Germans were with the union, considering their abolitionist anti-slavery views. The Irish and Scottish associated with the confederates because it reminded them of their struggle with England. The Irish who fought for the Union were rarely happy to do so. Most got sucked in when as soon as they got off the port in NYC.

  • There were very few Irish in the Confederate - the majority were Scottish and German.

  • Patrick Cleburne was an Irish Gen fightin for the South and was one of the best Confederate generals, Cleburne was known for being able to hold a position and General Robert E. Lee referred to him as "a meteor shining from a clouded sky". He earned the nickname "Stonewall of the West." Sadly the spot where he was killed at the Battlefield of the Battle of Franklin had a Pizza Hut built on top of it before some areas were preserved.

  • To The Irish Best to ya from VA!

  • @jettrink60 I was reading where someone said that the Irish that fought were Ulster Scots and not Irish Catholic someone needs to read history.

  • @jettrink60 my 2nd great grandfather was scotch irish and served in 53rd alabama calvary (partisan rangers) also his immediate family were also infantry men to many men to list and their compainies

  • Good vid but could you really call the pope a friend of Jeff Davis. All he did was recognized Davis as csa president. At the time it looked like the csa would be independentl

  • Deo Vindici.

  • My Great Great Great Grandfather Served in The Civil war, he was with the 30th Alabama Volunteer Infantry, he died at the Battle of Tazewell, in Tennessee.

  • @mwgroves1961 Just saying all of Cleburn's brothers actually fought for the Union Army
