Inklet is a handy application that turns your MacBook trackpad into a pen tablet.
This video shows how you can use inklet with the handwriting recognition capabilities of Mac OS X.
In the demo, we used a Pogo Sketch. Using a Pogo Sketch allows for pressure sensitivity and the ability to hover without inking.

hehe, oh yeah ;)
I have a Magic track-pad now, and it works like a charm ( To draw with ) ;)
So: buy new accessories instead of replacing the cool Macbook black edition ;)

@pipin2003 windows has excellent handwriting recognition it even works with cursive handwriting when I used a wacom tablet for input
mac os x handwriting recognition is primitive in comparison, you have to keep the letters separate.

I have a new Macbook, and this seems awesome. I totally want it. I'm not sure what all I'd use it for, but I bet I could find some stuff.
Planning essays and drawing diagrams seem like two good ideas.

I hope one day windows will do the same...

@suuunly , its because you don't have a single trackbad+button unibody hardware. you have an old MacBook Black ... time to upgrade.

You need to have a MacBook with multitouch. Unibody silver MacBooks with black keys will work, as will the latest white MacBooks with rubbery bottoms (for lack of better designator).
so no older macbooks!

This App dosn´t work on on my Macbook 13 (Black edition)
it tell´s that I can´t use this application to this version of mac OS X, and the program needs mac OS X 10.5 or higher, and I have 10.5.8, So why dosn´t it work for me? is it the Laptop? or?
