Simply the Truth with Doug Harris and Robin Benson Discussing Easter or Passover - which should Christians celebrate? First broadcast on Revelation TV on 10/3/2011
Jesus died on what we call "Friday" but is was the 6th day of the Jewish Passover Week. In that particular year Jesus died, the High Priest intentionally declared the 7th Day, Sabbath or what we call Saturday in our senses, to be such a day that would have to be stretched out 48 hours, because before any new such week of days would start as a Sunday, the astronomical alignment of full moon with vernal equinox and morning star of Venus had to arrive, . Passover became an Eight Day Week.
The exact day Jesus rose, was an Easter Sunday in a Jewish Jubilee rebirth of the days of the week. Jews did not forever just count 7 day weeks, as we do, they literally stopped time and made a seventh day, last more than 24 hours, and simply suspending the day as time stopped they waited for the significance of the full moon and vernal Equinox sunrise, no matter how many extra days to wait, and then they blew the horns and a brand new Sunday or First Light Day, was declared legal.
Easter is the correct day for the Resurrection, not on a yearly solar calendar basis, but that the Jews would come to a Passover Week, in the year of "Jubilee" or resetting calendar times. Jesus died on Friday , then Saturday was repeated as two solar days, in one, that Sabbath day was 48 hours until the Horns blew by the order of the Priest to start Sunday. They watched the full moon and vernal equinox align to mark a 50th rebirth of the world and then they started counting days all over.
When Jesus died, the Hellenic World calendar, observing the Solar Calendar held Easter Sunday as the first day of the Roman Calendar week. The Jews altered the days by halting the counting of days and waiting for a 49 year cycle of the full moon and vernal equinox, plus the morning star, creating the effect of a special day when the least darkness was apparent. The night had the full moon, then morning star ,then sun , to make the day the most filled with light.
Every 50 years Easter and First Fruits after Passover agrees on Sunday. The Jews would expand a 7 day week by standing on Saturday or Seventh Day, until the Full Moon agreed to shine all night before the Vernal Equinox, Easter Sunday, with the Morning Star leading the way. So when Jesus died , there was a 48 hour stretch of Seventh Day or Two Literal back to back Shabbats, waiting for the alignment of Sun and Moon on Easter Sunday. So,Easter is First Light of Jewish calendar very 50th year.
It's time for believers to leave babylon once & for all! We're supposed to be a people who are set apart from the world, not ones who blend in... obedience to YHWH's Word makes us HIS salt & light. How can we point people to the One true God if we as believers are worshipping HIM in the way of the heathen by celebrating festivals that contradict HIS Word? ie. easter, christmas
Thanks for that. I was teaching on this subject last week on the streets of Valencia, and I find the most difficult group of people to talk to about easter|Ishtar are christians! I was accused of not knowing my Bible to being a JW. It seems many 'pastors' are doing a great job in brain washing the flock. The rabbit hole of easter goes v deep and also has links to Nimrod, babylon the geat, rev 9.11(apolyon, abadon and Zeus) to the freemasons and the statue of liberty. keep up the good work Doug
