Lee Wulff first created the Stone Fly for fishing Atlantic Salmon. His was produced with a plastic molded body with post and used no thread. The fly was made with glue. Today the Stone Ghost is the most popular way to use the fly on all the rivers of the gaspe.

  • Thanks for your comment. You can get the correct, soft metal pins at a sewing store. They are used for holding seems together and then being able to sew over the pin holding the seem. The beads are Japanese seed beads made of glass. You get these at most craft stores.

This fly works everywhere and is fished wet on a floating line.

  • Great job! Grizzley hackle makes every fly irresistable it seems

  • Thanks for this. Where can I get the bead and pin? I would love to try this on the Miramichi. Does it fish wet or dry?
