These ads have always reduced me to tears even when transiting the Qantas terminal in Sydney where they play the ad incessantly. The current ad is just magic with young Torres Strait Islander, Tyus Arndt "singing out to all the children of the world (from the previous Qantas ads) to return to and meet in one place, back home in Australia". Tyus is signing in the Kala Lagaw Ya language of the Torres Strait Islands, and is the Mabuiag dialect. Just beautiful, and the reason I choose to fly Qantas as much as I can. It's advertising which well and truly works on me! I've had the pleasure of seeing all 3 choirs involved in the making of this ad, the Australian Girls Choir, Gondwana National Indigenous Children's Choir and the National Boys Choir of Australia. Well done kids!

  • I won't ever again be able to regard QANTAS nor its once-wonderful ads like these ones, in the same former warm & fuzzy light. Reason : the disgraceful behaviour of Sat 29 Oct by that nasty little imported irish mick Alan Joyce, & his bloody-mindedness in grounding the airfleet. Joyce reminds me of those gangsters Corrigan/Reith in their 1998 attempt to destroy the MUA. Joyce seems OK with the scenario of Asian scabs hired in place of Aussie professionals & attack-dogs to enforce lock-outs.

  • @colindominy And the union thugs holding the airline hostage you don't consider thugs? Qantas has to deal with 17 unions and 35 awards. You can't have unions disrupting the public, and denying Qantas revenue, by calling a strike, and then in the last seconds before the strike was called, call the strike off. Qantas did the right thing by grounding the airline. There's been no union thuggery or trouble since. THe unions will end up pricing themselves out of the market.... then NO jobs for Aussies

  • Yes, here we can see all that we may lose becuse of those dam airplanes killing the earth. Good commercial, harsh but good.

  • @ThePannKaka1 Yeah, let's go back to being cavemen and give up all our medical advances as well.

  • @SimonCouelle Plu-ese. They ARE a children's choir being directed to sing a song technically perfect within their vocal range, and abilities. Since when does any member of any choir do individual, emotional performances? And "patriotism"? You can't be serious. These are all young Australians. They are "patriotic" by default.

  • Makes me proud to be Australilan :)

  • @davidnosmoke Haha, this video is silly and they dont give a ass about the nature, thats my point.

  • @Metalstrix You were right 11 months ago. He singing in a Torres Strait islander dialect, Kala Lagaw Ya.

  • @davidnosmoke Lol you got me there. Yeah he's from the Torres Strait, but do they speak Torres Strait or Aboriginal?

  • @early1morning No problems :)

  • @Metalstrix Well, he's not signing "aboriginal" that's for sure. He's from the Torres Straight.

  • @CastleSnowflake not true.

  • @feverpitchxx In context it was highly appropriate.
