This was the second day at the appleseed shooting clinic. I shot an AR 15 and I really enjoyed shooting because they are very accurate and they have some stopping power unlike some people say. If you really want a accurate rifle and you don't mind the ammo price to much I would definitely go with a AR 15 or a Ruger Mini 14, but if I had to choose one I would buy the AR 15 because it is slightly more accurate and it is way more ergonomic than the mini 14. If youre a "Left" handed shooter, the AR 15 or M4 or M16 is probably not the best choice but it is still workable and the reason why Stoner (the creator of the M16) did this because most people in the world are right handed. I actually know people that use the M4 and are left handed and they still like it. So its kinda a matter of opinion and the person using it. Another thing good about the AR 15 is that its a very good SHTF (Shit hits the fan) rifle because one the thing is very intimidating especially if you suck shooting. If the SHTF and you walk outside because of looters etc and they see you with that, Ill tell you what they will get the heck out of there because just because of the looks. It works both ways because lets say you have a Ruger 10 22, you can make that amazing weapon look like a AR just by buying a Tapco T6 stock or Archangel stock and they wont be able to tell the difference because most situations it will be dark and chances are they wont be able to tell because most of the world is not educated on firearms except by what they see on movies and what not. An Ak 47 is another gun that you see me shooting and I will tell you that it is accurate than what most people say. I have always heard that an AK 47 is very inaccurate and it has an uncontrollable kick to it, but in my experience I had no issues what so ever. I had about 4 shots and I hit a 200 meter steel target and I nailed it every time. The kick on it was not bad at all for a 7.62 and it was very comfortable. Aks are very good for SHTF because they will never jam because they are simply made and its Russian and they Russians make stuff to last. You can throw it in the mud, water, sand and who knows what else and they will still fire. Most weapon experts say that when the world collapses that they want a AK 47 and its true. Some people have even taken the testing to another step by burying it in the ground for 2 months with the ammo next and slapping in a magazine and firing it and it work flawlessly. The Ak is very intimidating because the noise and just the amount of rounds you can put down rang with it. Now with the M1 Grande that is the most powerful of them all, it fires a 30 cal and its deadly accurate. It has a couple of draw backs with ping when the magazine ejects out it has a distinct noise. If you are better with that with any other weapon and when the SHTF I suggest you use that over any gun because you got to do what you got to get the job done.

  • @Spillah21 The M4 is not actually mine but it is a Del-Ton (which is a good brand in my opinion). The man who owned it paid 700 Dollars for it and got a really nice scope with it as well. I would either go with a Del-Ton M4 or a Olympic M4, both are mid grade brands and function just fine. Don't get trapped into spending 2,000 dollars for a M4, I made that mistake with a Ruger SR 556 and I rarely shot it because I had no money to spend on ammo. Good luck brother!
