well if you have a natural gas well on your land you get it for free.but make you own the mineral rights from top to bottom

very cool! I would love to have a plot of land with a natural gas well that would supply me for life, I wonder if it would end up cheaper than utilities if you used it for heating and power generation?

If your land is good for natural gas does that mean it is bad for drinking well water?

You people have probably never worked on a drilling rig or had one on your property. I have both experiences. First, drilling lasts anywhere from 7-60 days. Not that obtrusive when you get nice roads built on your property and a check for years. The water is safe. The chemicals only reach out a couple hundred feet from the well bore. They will not migrate to the surface. If migration was occurring in the formation the gas wouldn't be trapped there and fracking wouldn't be needed.

Solar power is the answer, it's just not as popular right now because there isn't a way for corporations to line their pockets with some proprietary chemical or a way for them to patent the sun.

alot of people dont mind using the resources, but they are against middle class people working for a living extracting them.... hydrocarbons are definitely not the best answer... but right now they are the only answer.

i'm surprised there's actually natural gas left. Iola was supposed to be a big city back in the early 1900's because of the huge amount of natural gas. but they just up and wasted most of it. they would have parades with pipes going down each side of the road shooting off pillars of fire. now iola and gas (that's actually the name of the minitown where they're drilling...NO JOKE)is a crappy small town that's been going downhill ever since.

You are obstructive to lower and middle income families who rely on economical ways and means for energy. Elitist views mixed with your normative economic opinions do little for the advancement of any energy policy. It is called balance. You can not go around and tell everyone hydrocarbons are wrong, and expect them to just wish into the world other forms of power on their laps. This is going to take time. Hydrocarbons are the bridge to the future. That is just the way it is.

L8nights, dear child, rest easy. I will indeed never heat my home with natural gas or drive a CNG car. I not only know where natural gas comes from, I know enough about various energy resources to know how to walk the talk - that is, I know how to practice what I preach - and to know we have better energy options than hydrocarbons. Let me recommend that you learn to write a temperate, properly punctuated and grammatically correct sentence before you accuse me or anyone else of ignorance.

Hey forward to eden you are the one drinking the kool aid. Do me a favor and dont heat your home in the winter with this, or dont you a gas stove, and please dont ever drive a CNG car. You are ignorant to energy and sour any form of learning in regards to where natural gas comes from. Do us a favor and take your crying over spilled milk someplace else.
