In the middle of one of the station's long but fewer commercial breaks, the station's main announcer Jerry Chambers tells us that "American Graffiti" will return in just a moment. Please let me know if there's a picture of him anywhere.
The Summer Film Festival was a yearly tradition at TV40, where they'd show classic movies all summer- "American Graffiti" from 1973 was the most recent movie added to the festival. This was the first year of KTXL's newer transmitter with stereo, but sadly was the station's final Summer Film Festival, as the Fox network started up in 1987 and helped drag channel 40 to a state of mediocrity.
The summer film festival was a great tradition in Sacramento until the corporate networks took over.
