@NYCMESBRNX Winger was huge on CC and the islands. My uncle, who lives on Nantucket also used to record the local radio stations. It's fun to hear advertisements from then too. One that sticks out is for Thompson's Clam Bar.

@Naushop1 Yeah, I'm from NY, my parents still have a home in Eastham. I recorded music from those radio stations when I would go to the Cape every summer during the 80's and 90's. I still have those tapes somewhere deep in the closet I'm sure. Nowadays all radio stations are pretty much owned by the same network, back then you'd hear different music when you went to a different state/city/country. Not too much separates us anymore.

@NYCMESBRNX It was either WRZE or WPXC that played it. 'RZE played most top 40 stuff. That was the radio station of my childhood. In most of my home movies from summer '89(I was about 6-8 months old.) We'd go to the beach and blare our stereo along with the other people on the beach, and this song was playing on the radio

I might be in the minority, here, but, I like Michael's cover, better than the Romantics' original. Michael hit #28 in Billboard, 10-14-89. God bless ya, for postin' it. Thanx! Have a great weekend!

Thanks for the upload! I came looking for this version in particular because in the summer of 1989 I spent 5 weeks in Florida on a language course (I'm from Finland) and this video was on American MTV constantly during that time. One day I remember me and my host family goofing around to this in their living room, dancing our asses off. Good times, great memories!

@DaveWollenberg Ha but @ #49 it's the Romantics we remeber all these years later, but anywayz I wouldn't be watching this if I didn't have some regard 4 this version...thx 4 posting anywayz and God bless everyone.

This was playing in Cape Cod all the time in the summer of 1989. Who the hell knows why.

He looks like a morphodite.

You were close on the peak position. It was actually #28.. 21 spots higher than the showing of the Romantics original in 1980.
I miss those Night Tracks videos. Weren't they on the USA Network?

You are confusing Night Tracks (which aired on TBS) with Night Flight (which aired on USA Network)
