A bit shaky with the camera there, huh?... (Get a tripod!) This is the actor who played the police officer who arrested Virgil Tibbs at the beginning of the movie "In the Heat of the Night" in 1967. He died shortly after playing Sgt. Hulka on "Stripes" 1981.

They need more hard core drill sargents like this now. Back then they was real tough as nails along with being hard on the trainees. Training was fun yet they was serious as hell as getting the job done.
