i'm going to tampa but my friend and i are broke. why are the tickets so expensive. most of the bands i have never heard of before. aimee wasn't on the list either. why the fuck is gary johnson going to speak? it's called 'Paul Fest'. i thought grass roots was more important. i've given a lot of money during money bombs. i know about the 15% discount for being a vet but that's still too much! i've given everything i got and i think i deserve to be part of Paul Fest!

Hey man. I'm not organizing the event so this is just my two cents, but the reason why tickets have a cost to them is because a venue like that size costs tens of thousands, security, city permits, county permits, lighting, sound, bands. To do an event like this and do it well you are probably looking at a half a million easy, more likely three quarters of a million. Bands alone charge $10,000 for bands ya don't know to $100,000+ for bands you do and now book bands for multiple days.

That leaves two options, sell out to large corporate sponsorship (where they control content, messaging, etc) or charge a larger price for tickets and keep it grassroots.

oh, btw Toshy... Paul Rally was WAY better than Paulfest. i guess grass roots are pretty strong. :) (everything was free including the after-party)

bc gov gary johnson is the libertarian presidential candidate. not to mention he is carry the libertarian message into November and on the ballot in all 50 states. a vote for johnson is guaranteed to count. if you get upset cuz ron paul isnt on the ballot and will only vote for him, then you dont support the message, you only support the individual.

not to mention gary johnson has the record to back his message up. johnson/gray 2012!

If they don't give Dr. Paul a speaking slot at the convention then we have to rebel. They are saying he only won 4 states?? What happened to Colorado, Alaska, Massachusetts, shit even the Virgin islands. If they don't at least give him his speech after all he has done then we should vote for Obama. Fuck it. If we all write in Dr. Paul's name he still wont win sooo the only threat we have is re-electing Obama. Tell me what you think

thanks for the reply but is there going to be any grass roots events anywhere else in Tampa for those that can not afford tickets to the Paul Fest? i'm still going to tampa and going to bbq. do you know of any tailgate parties?
