General Jeronimo Giron-Moctezuma was an important commander during the American Revolution during the many guerrilla battles in West Florida(now part of Alabama mostly) and Pensacola. He had Aztec ancestry even though he was born in Spain.

At the Alamo, Juan Abamillo, Carolos Espalier, and others were of Mexican ancestry and fought and died for Texas independence from Mexico.

How do these figures reflect conventional wisdom that illegal aliens only gravitate to those areas where there is the greatest demand for workers to do plentiful jobs which idle Americans won’t do?
