Our continuing tests of the new UAV from Wrightsville Beach, North Carolina. This was a great demonstration of how the plane and its attached video camera can show us a barrier island from just a few hundred feet up.

  • oh shit, enemy uav is online

  • sweet view!!

  • our UAV is online!

  • Super cool footage! They use these for surf competitions to get the aerial shots.

  • @skywave12 Thanks! I was thinking of ridge soaring the condos but I was without goggles or a monitor. It would have been VERY easy to stay aloft for an hour with the lift I was getting. You can see at around 2:45 I had to power dive to get back down. What a blast.

  • That continuous smooth flowing onshore wind is something I will have to do.

    Great video Paul.

You can go far with sand berms near a shoreline making the plane soar with uplifts .

Not thermals. Just uplifts. Hang pilots can ride the uplifts for many miles.

It would be interesting if a FPV plane could do the same.

Maybe another record to do with shorelines?

  • kinda like this some thing i can go far with

  • @SicSoulzGamin79 Depends on what capability you are looking for.
