Ele passa pasta e remove o excesso do dissipador porque o mesmo não é lapidado, logo a pasta continua preenchendo os "poros" do metal. é isso.

spread method as shown here is not the best. 2 methods has proven again and again to be the best, DOT OR RICE. i always use small dot on center of the cpu core.

Like its done here is not the best, why dosnt he put the paste on the center of the core, makes no sense. What he is doing to the cooler heatsink on the other hand is correct.

Aquela pasta que ele passou no dissipador na verdade ele so retirou o excesso pq ainda ha pasta lá.
