  • That MC girl is so hyper ~~that's cute!

  • @kayper54 China doesn't have a lot of social welfare programs (which is why the problem with their aging population is a BIG one)...Because, generally, it is the family's responsibility to look after each other, so the concept of state welfare is kind of nonsensical (in the context of Chinese society). Though, things are slowly beginning to adapt to the reality of it all.

  • Can we make our gym teachers participate? Instead of them standing in the corner w/ a clipboard, tapping their pens and looking bored?

  • @kayper54 The problems is with funding and local government. Hopefully more will be done in the future. Also the one child policy looks to be ending soon, which should help the problem.

On topic, I have immense respect for that kid, he's managed to keep happy and upbeat despite his tragic circumstances.

  • @PrometheanRunGood What about the rest of it? "The fate of these children is mostly unknown but many end up homeless." WHY is the fate of these children "mostly unknown?" How do they end up homeless unless they're just left in the streets? Why wouldn't there be any refuge prepared for them if it's such a small part of the population?

  • @kayper54 It is extremely sad that such things still happen but any number when it applies to China will seem huge. The number of babies abandoned is still only 0.007% of the population.

  • "...lead to an estimated 100,000 babies being abandoned every year. The fate of these children is mostly unknown but many end up homeless." That's a REEEEEEAALLY scary statistic they gloss over pretty quickly.
