@engineco3wfd the car didnt actually touch the tank. these tankers are filled from the bottom up meaning they get filled from the pipes under the tank. these pipes remain filled with fuel which is no good when a car crashes into them. i remember seeing years ago the family of a tanker crash victim was trying to get law passed that they fill from the top so the pipes are empty and not full of fuel.
Gasoline doesn't explode. It's the fumes. With this type of fire, all the fuel is burning. When the car impacted the tanker, it punctured it and it ignited.
