Jennifer's dress didn't rip. It was a layered dress with several tiers. Jennifer was holding onto the top two tiers with her hands when someone stepped on her dress and the middle tier was pulled down. When she got to the stage she lowered the top tier and it covered the sheer upper part of the middle tier, which is how the dress is designed. The guy in this vid is an idiot.

and this year Jennifer fell on the stairs like a boss getting her award lol

You see, she was holding up all three tiers of the dress when she walked up to accept her award. As she walked up, someone stepped on her dress and pulled the lower two tiers of the dress down while she was still holding on to the top tier with her hands, so the sheer interior fabric was exposed at the top. Then she just lowered the top tier of the dress to cover it.

Okay. lol Jennifer Lawrence's dress is layered, kind of like having one curtain on top of another, and another. The inside of the dress is sheer material that goes from her waist down to her ankles. Attached to the sheer material are three tiers of fabric that make the dress. The first tier attaches at her waist and hangs to her lower thighs. The second attaches just above the knees, and the third attaches below the knees. The top tier got yanked up and exposed the sheer material underneath.
