Windows Vista: Fast Boot Registry Hack by Britec
This tweak shortens the boot screen scroll time
remember always backup your registry before tweaking.

*Press WIN+R to run regedit

*Navigate to
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Control\Session Manager\Memory Management\PrefetchParameters

*Hit EnablePrefetcher on the right panel and set its value to "0"

*Restart

For 2 years I've wished for improvement in booting. Vaio was taking 120 seconds before I even saw a mouse pointer! After this great tip I saw the mp at 60 seconds in, however, the time then before the desktop appears has increased. All in all around 30 seconds have been shaved off! Thanks!

Dude, mt green bar used to scroll across at least 35 times i did this hack and now it goes across 8 times then boots up. U are a god.

well it's supposed to make it boot faster. try it and see if you can see a differents, if not change it back.

Yh 0 or 1 seems to be the best. They speed up the Windows loaing screen a lot. 2 and 3 now speeds up only the windows user section. Thnx for the vid, went down from 41~ 1 minute to 34 seconds now :D
