@Ali74its not really like this pal ye get some people that might but the only time they really have any harsh words to say to each other is on darby day,its the best rivalrey going.alot of families are mixed between red and blue,its not a more hated occasion then liverpool and the mancs but we look forward to it more coz you able to give everyone stick and theres always a great atmosphere,unlike old trafford were we're the only ones singing.and espanyol do hate barca,barca have no time for them

@burnleyboy01 A 3 year stint (1984-87) in over 40 years of nothing doesnt answer it. As England's two biggest and most successful clubs Liverpool and Man U understandably hate each other..5 times..19 times..Shankly..Ferguson..This is Anfield..Theatre of Dreams..etc etc..i get that hate. what i dont get is Everton and their bitterness toward Liverpool. They are not competitors, and being envious of a club that is out of sight makes no sense. Espanyol do not have this bitterness toward Barca.

@Ali74...The problem is that the everton fans think a different way.Im a die hard red who will support Everton if they play man u but Everton will support Man u when they play LFC.They can just say LFC fans are from outside only which is just balls but aint LFC got one of the best fans in the world.Istanbul proves that !!!

I don't understand Everton's bitterness. They are not in competition with Liverpool. To use a situation in Spain as a similar comparison... i'm pretty sure Espanyol fans are not bitter toward Barca, so in the same way Espanyol support Barca in major Euro finals, Everton should be supporting Liverpool. Barca would support Espanyol if they were playing Real Madrid, just as Liverpool would support Everton if they were playing Man United.
