From October 10, 2011 through October 15, a team of six Oklahoma volunteers assisted in "ash out" at Bastrop, Texas.
In early September, a fire had destroyed 34,000 acres and 1550 houses.
The Southern Baptist Disaster Relief effort brought in volunteers to clear debris from the houses and to cut trees in an effort help fire victims clear property so that they could begin reconstruction. These teams normally function as "mud out" and "chain saw" teams. This effort was supported by an SBC feeding unit, a shower unit and a laundry unit.
