@UpTheIrons911 Well, all it has to do, is keep the strings from vibrating at that spot, so the pitch is higher than without it.

Good job, nice bass. I'm thinking of one of these myself. I've read that the bass lacks treble and can get a bit muddy.. do you find this?

if you're talking about the sock it's not a capo, it's just there to prevent the open strings from ringing unwantedly.

aww too bad the tabs for a 6 string bass.... is there one for a 4 string?

Sorry, I don't have one. To play it on a four string, you'd have to transpose it down (I go to to the 23rd fret on the C string on this one) and also play the lower notes one octave up or something...
