I always cite craig ventor when someone asks for life coming from non living chemicals, the first synthetic life , he sequenced a bacteria's genome and inserted it into a cell and it came to life. Unfortunately because the chemicals didnt sequence themselves, then it doesnt count according to creationists ive spoke to, althou it is a living organism from non-living chemicals.

Yet here he is are insisting that because 'he personally' doesn't know something and even though there is an car (any living thing) and a manual (its genome) that the problem has no solution.

Would he apply this logic in real life? not a chance. Will he apply it to science over religion? absolutely.

The really funny thing is even if the car (living thing) were made by a god it would still have a manual. A manual that would still give the answer regardless of the origin of the car.

Here is the solution the religious caller/emailer is offering.

1. There is no solution it is time to die of cold.

However the actual solution is in the manual...we know that because there is a DVD manual and it has everything in it.

But to suggest that just because you don't know the answer right now when there is both a car and a manual in front of you is pretty stupid.

I doubt this caller would settle for 'ooops I'm going to die now' as the solution.

So you load the DVD software and get out... staring at the engine with your laptop on the radiator you realise your laptop battery has about 2 hours left...if you swith off WiFi you'll get 3 hours...

In this car is possibly a simple solution to a life threatening problem...and the explanation of how to address that is on the DVD...you just don't know where... but at -10c and falling you have about 2 hours to work it out before frostbite sets in.

So what do you do?

You are driving home from work at 3am on a desert highway. The sun is gone down a long time and its getting pretty cold. You turn on the heating and suddenly all power to the car stops... the engine dies...the electrics just bomb out...the computer is down and you are 50 miles from the nearest human being.

Your phone is out of range and the only thing you have is the cars owners manual and a DVD that came with it spouting all sort of technical crap you haven't a clue about.

Well RNA is self catalytic... or rather it is its own catalyst. But there are other structures like this too... a few years back we had Tpna which seems to have been immediately removed from the public domain and retreated to a rather large building on the california coastline...(when somethng shows a lot of promise its time to stop telling everyone about it)

But this presents response from sheds ligght on a much more interesting problem... and it goes a little like this....
