@Mopozco oh this is very interesting! I see what you probably did now, you put the spark gap in the water on this circuit, I just put the spark gap outside the water and was trying to power a light bulb that way, I want to try this now. :)

get your TROS (you already built) and connect it to your flyback with those blue wires (the same way),
now get your jumper wire and hook it to the hot end of flyback, now connect another end of jumper to pins on other side of FB one by one, one of it will give you spark, this's the one - you found HV coil

all of this is a HV HF oscillations, the hand won't affect it when connected in such way;
just play around with voltage on the same setup
