Title: Don't You Worry 'Bout a Thing (2011)
Composer: Stevie Wonder
Arr: New orchestration for 5 voices (Tracie Franklin, Trey Mitchell, Andrew J. Overcash, Chelsea Picken, Katherine Wright) & orchestra
It took my awhile to put this one together, but I'm pleased with the outcome :) This is a jazz-inspired "showcase" orchestration of one of my favorite mink/Stevie Wonder songs. The rhythm section (piano, bass, drums), strings, brass, and singers all get their chance to shine. Gotta say, my strings were killin' it at the end and Zack's drum solo was amazing! Perhaps the most difficult part was trying to share the melodies and harmonies among the different sections but still have the best balance. The singers sound great and this was a great ending to a great cabaret.

Now that's what I'm talkin' bout. Where have you been all my life? This is what I do, and we need more of this full dance orchestra kind of thing. If you need something written for your band or some customized audio tracks check out my work on "You Tube" Rod Steele Orchestra pt.5 After Your Gone. Part 1 would be good for your group too.
