This is a Central American ringtail cat, also called a Cacomistle. This is another cute little critter who came out to munch on fruit snacks at "The Lost and Found" eco-hostel in Panama.

  • This was filmed in Panama, so if he is North American he must have traveled a long way south..... Maybe both species live in Central America??

  • The creature in the video has rounded ears and therefore is a North American ringtailed cat, Bassariscus astutus; the cacomistle or Central American ringtailed cat, Bassariscus sumichrasti has pointed ears.

  • Oh sorry, nevermind, just read your info at the top.

  • Cacomistle is a different species than the Ringtail Cat. The Ringtails are American and the cacomistles are from central/south america. Where did you film this?
