Every time I think about what that must have meant to that kid I get tears in my eyes. Not only does she get to play the Grand Ole Opry, she gets to play with some of the best bluegrass musicians in the world. It is a really exclusive club, and to be welcomed into it with open arms has to feel really good to a 12 year old.

Um, listen to the original AKUS recording -- that is exactly how Adam Steffey kicked off his mandolin break on this song. Hull was blending in with the band she was appearing with, and what better way than to borrow from Steffey?

We should remember that Ms. Kraus was about the same age, herself, when she began to make waves, and folks began to take note. Ditto most of the guys in that group. And the Country & Bluegrass communities have a long history of welcoming seriously talented new-comers.  Well done, all.
